It seems that Nissan customers are having problems with their Navara trucks snapping in half after the chassis gets corroded:
The Sun said:
The Japanese car firm has bought back scores of faulty trucks from drivers following inspections, but no official recall of the D40 model has been made.

The issue also affects some Pathfinder R51s, the seven-seater family car version of the Navara.

Nissan has known about the problem for a year and has been accused of keeping it “under wraps”.
Perhaps they did a bit too much cost-take-out and weight reduction on this design.

Nissan is taking a page from rival Toyota: http://www.autoblog.com/2016/11/14/toyota-3-billion-settlement-rusty-truck-frames/

Wow, amazing on the Nissan Navara. I'm not at all surprised at the claims from owners that Nissan is trying to cover it up. They have all sorts of issues with the CVTs in the Versas and other cars, they extended the warranty for older ones, but pretend there is no issue with the current ones. But SURPRISE, ours failed after 45,000 miles after having taken it to the dealership 4 different times, each time they claimed the transmission was OK, it was fine, nothing was wrong with it, until it finally failed. They KNOW there is a problem with these transmissions, yet Nissan corporate and the dealerships pretend nothing is wrong until there is a complete failure. I suspect Nissan HQ is pressuring dealerships to not perform warranty work until complete failure occurs in order to reduce warranty claims.

Indeed. Nissan did extend the warranty on CVTs on older vehicles to 10 years/120K miles. It was up at http://web.archive.org/web/20110703153736/http://www.nissanassist.com/web/CVT/index.php?menu=8.

But yeah, otherwise the powertrain warranty is only 5 years/60K miles.

Nissan gets their CVTs from http://www.jatco.co.jp/ENGLISH/index.html. Per http://www.jatco.co.jp/ENGLISH/company/profile.html, Nissan owns 75% of that company.
