I received this from Solar City about my system
You may want to check if your inverter is on the list.

Xantrex and its parent company, Schneider Electric, the manufacturer of the inverter used in your system, have issued a product recall. Because Xantrex's recall notice indicates that under certain rare circumstances the inverter could pose a risk of injury (the cover blows off)

RECALL NOTICE
XANTREX GT SERIES GRID TIE SOLAR INVERTERS

clipboard1i.jpg

This recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Hazard: A component of the inverter can degrade, causing out gassing within the wiring compartment of the inverter. Should arcing occur, gasses could build and force the compartment cover to be blown off. If the cover is blown off with sufficient force it can injure the user or person, or cause damage to property in close proximity to the inverter.

Manufacturer: Xantrex Technology Inc. (a subsidiary of Schneider Electric), of Livermore, Calif.

Product Description: The recalled inverter converts solar photovoltaic voltages into utility grid voltages; allowing the owner to feed power into the electrical grid. The recalled units were manufactured between September 2005 and August 2010. These products were sold under the Xantrex, Sunpower, and General Electric brands. The brand name is printed on the front of the unit.

Part Numbers affected: [part number can be found on the label on top of the unit]

Nope. I phoned my installer/contractor the day I got the recall notice, and they said they were waiting for parts.

It's been a while.
I will call Xantrex directly and see if they can expedite.

Our inverter is on recall too, which means we can't use it to charge our Leaf.

Acro Energy says they just received the retrofix parts today, May 9. They say they'll call "soon" to schedule to this fix. We're fifth on the list.

We've lost a lot of money and a lot of banked energy during cool Spring days when you have a lot of sun but don't need the air conditioning.

I'm happy to report that our Xantrex inverter has been serviced per the recall, with both the explosive capacitors torn out and new bracket installed.
It didn't take but 10 minutes.

Also, we've never been down/offline, so I'm not sure why you'd be losing power unless you disconnected for 'preventative' reasons.
Supposedly, only one Xantrex ever has blown the lid, so it might not be that common a failure mode.
They have, however, had a lot of warranty calls on the Xantrex inverters, and some installers have chosen to stop carrying them.

SMA and Power One seem to be growing in share.

Solar city fixed it a few weeks ago.
They didn't even tell me, I was checking and noticed that it was back

Solar city said to shut it down and so I did.
They are sending me payment to make up for the down time

Who was your installer? Acro Energy has been really obnoxious about fixing this. They've had the parts for a week and have yet to schedule the repairs.
