What is Leaf doing at the pump?

Wed Oct 05, 2016 8:30 am

I'm going to ask readers: what the frack is going on with my Leaf?

If nobody guess correctly I'll share another picture :P

No joke, Leaf really must be there for something. But what?

No, that is ad-blue. It might freeze in winter so needs more protection i guess.

On the right? Upper shelf with "PABER" written means take banknotes, Lower shelf with "PRÜGI" means put banknotes back.
OK, it is Paper and Trash, but technically you can also insert money and Harry Potter books there

It is pretty reasonable to give paper towels and one-use gloves at diesel AND adblue pumps, this things smell a loong time

My guess is that they are adding windshield wiper fluid - you can see that the hood is up if you look towards the top of the image.

I've gotten gas for a generator at least once in my Leaf.
2013 "Brilliant Silver" SV with Premium Package and no QC, and 2009 Vectrix VX-1 with 18 Leaf cells.

The most offensive, tasteless phrase in use here is "Pulled the trigger." I no longer respond to posts that use it.

Actually I've also done that on more than one occasion. I feel kind of funny getting 20 gallons of gas(4 5gallon cans) in my Leaf but hey, don't want to waste gas using my Prius filling gas cans to take home

Once in a while I drive the LEAF to a gas station to fill a 5-gallon container. I have received comments/questions at least 3 times while "filling up". I always seal the container tightly and drive straight home with A/C on high and outside air to minimize the obnoxious odors.

Providing a jump-start for another car, which is hidden behind the raised hood?

Scrubbing/Squeegeeing windshield?

Is there another service offered at European gas pumps that aren't offered in the US?
