I scraped up the undercarriage cover and there is a hole in it. Is this something I should be concerned about?

I question is how badly, and if it damaged parts of the car that are INSIDE the cover....

The cover is not important except to keep things tidy. Have it checked by a mechanic....

The cover is mostly to prevent damage but also for aerodynamics. If it's hanging down or torn, that part will definitely be less aerodynamic and will create considerable drag at highway speeds.

I had damaged mine and ordered a new one to replace it. I had to drive around without it for a couple of months before it came in. I didn't notice a difference. But since it does protect the underside of parts, I felt it important enough to replace.
