I'm running into some major and weird problems.

EDIT: You can see these problems via the repro steps but the prob is actually something else.

Mods/admins: Try the repro steps then see my reply at viewtopic.php?p=521043#p521043. Sorry for the confusion. One of the real problems is after step 4.

(original subject line:
Forum data corruption? Wrong users being attributed to posts)
Steps to repro:
1) Visit viewtopic.php?f=44&t=14285
2) In the Search this topic box, type lelink released and press enter OR visit search.php?keywords=lelink+released&t=14285&sf=msgonly
3) Look at first post and notice it's by Turbo 3 "The next version of LeafSpy Pro has just been release with support for the LELink Bluetooth 4.x LE adapter."
4) Click on Jump to post for that post
5) Notice you're not scrolled to the right spot
6) Look for those words on the page (about halfway down)

Result:
It looks like "The next version of LeafSpy Pro has just been release with support for the LELink Bluetooth 4.x LE adapter.." has been posted by llama with only 12 posts!

There's even weirdness like this:
Turbo3 wrote:Has there been any update in regards to BTLE support?

I have a LeLink I purchased just for use with this app, but I'm wondering if I should give up on the BTLE idea.

Turbo3 wouldn't be asking this!

Can someone look into this? Some sort of major forum bug or database corruption? Repro on 2 totally different browsers (Firefox and Chrome). Screenshots attached.

That can happen when somebody edits the "quote" tags in their post incorrectly.
Looks like llama screwed up.

Ok. I can buy that for part of it.

I think I figured out the problem. The jump to post links from search results and the links from clicking on the post's time and date are WRONG.

viewtopic.php?p=491727#p491727 should lead to Turbo3's post at Sun Apr 16, 2017 2:57 pm (Pacific time). It doesn't. It leads even to the wrong page for me. It ends up being at the bottom of viewtopic.php?f=44&t=14285&start=1570.

I have had issues with the same where I would simply delete and resubmit because I edited a bracket out or something but sometimes I don't know what went wrong.

I have also had responses go to the wrong thread. On my phone, I can see that happening but on a desktop, that is difficult to do accidentally.

But this happens on other social media platforms. I have to suspect several are to blame in this.
