Login sticky?

Sun Jun 13, 2010 9:44 am

I don't know if it's just me, but every time I visit I have to login to the site - even though each time I login I check the "automatically log me in on each visit" box.

Is it just me, or is this feature not working quite right? It would be great to not have to login on each visit - and since the board sets cookies, it should just require a cookie check to be up and going. Thanks.

Works ok for me in IE8. Do you have Antivirus/Firewall software that defeats the purpose ? Or a server interfering ? (btw, I never log out. which means the site may show me "online" erroneously at all times, or may be at least as long as IE is running). I have not tried using FF or other browser for this forum.

Is your browser set to not store cookies ? Do you have this issue with other sites ?

With Opera on the Wii, IE7 on XP and Vista, it works fine.

It would help if we know your system, OS, and browser types and versions.

With some browsers (like the Wii's Opera), cookies cab get "too full", overwritten, or scrambled in some way, and need to be "reset" (usually cleared).

But, the forum appears to work properly.

I'm running Vista and IE7/8 and absolutely cannot keep a persistent login on this forum. Chrome is working beautifully, and I don't get the 'newline' problems when posting.

Thanks for the replies.

Looks like user error - I thought I had set Firefox to accept cookies from mynissanleaf.com, but apparently I hadn't. Now that I have, things work as expected.

Sorry - need to look closer next time before opening mouth long enough to change feet.

using chrome and it does not work for me either. now if i do the clicks to get in. i will stay in as long as a window stays open. but if i close them, it requires me to click again to submit username/pw

I have 32-bit Vista with IE7 (7.0.6002.18005) and it works fine
with remembering the login for MyNissanLeaf.

So, it is likely some other program that interferes with IE7 or
some cookie (setting or reading) or security-related (like firewall)
seting. I use the standard Vista firewall, with no unusual setings,
and AVAST for anut-virus.

Under Tools, internat Options, Security, I have selected "Medium".

What do you have running, or what settings, are different?
