Tim at Stone Mountain was very nice, but it sounds like they do not have new numbers in for June.

Accordingly, their offer was not very attractive, roughly $10k driveout on a $12k balance.

He was almost apologetic when he got back to me, but without updated numbers from Nissan it's all his mgt would commit to.

Knowing there is a flood of GA leafs being turned in, unless Nissan improves the offers I expect very few will be doing buyouts.

I'm still working with other dealers, and have not heard anything back from our friend in Greenville.

I am reluctant to post anything about my experience, but I just don't see as if I have much choice. I wish I could say this was all wrapped up in a week. I started discussions on purchasing my lease on 4/17/17. Between 4/17 and 4/26 we had excellent communication, the deal was struck. I arranged financing, signed the paperwork and got it back you. On 5/1 I inquired as to if the dealership received the paperwork, and it was acknowledged they had:

"We did receive your packet. You should be receiving your copies in the mail this week at the earliest, if not next week."

On 5/12, I sent the following message:

"I need you to look into this. Its now the 14th, I have NOT received anything from the dealership (or Nissan for that matter) that says I own the car. Certainly makes me nervous about this, as if I'd worked with a local dealer I would have walked out copies of my paperwork. I have nothing to show that I own it - and I've already received my payment schedule / coupons from the bank on the financing."

And received the following reply:

"I have forwarded your email to several managers to get to the bottom of this. I apologize for any inconvenience."

As of today (6/2/17), I have YET to have heard from anyone at this dealership as to what is going on. No calls, no emails, and no paperwork has been received. My birthday is in less then a week, and I don't have the new registration yet either.

If this is normally how things go, one should be told what to expect up front. Communication is key, and this dealership clearly lacks it! In fact the only communication I received (after submitting through the dealer contact form online), was a call asking if I'd been contacted buy a salesman regarding the vehicle I was interested in purchasing!

If I ran my business in this matter, I would be out of business pretty quickly.

Love the car. 55,000 miles on it, 1 bar lost at 48,000 miles. In Florida, car is kept outside year round. I travel the interstate to work (44 miles) one way, and charge at work. At 2 1/2 yrs into driving it, I still arrive at work with 47% charge left.

Even though I'm based out of Greenville, SC, I'll complete everything with you remotely (helped a client in Hawaii). It takes about a week's time to fully complete it all. So, the earlier in the month you contact me, the better. I look forward to hearing from y'all!

Thank you!

Ok. Just messaged the local stealership to see what they'll do me for on the '15 36 month. My residual is $14,240. All in of $7500 will do it for me, $8000 will probably take a 5 minute rant and then I'll do it anyway.

This is probably fantasy given last months incentive, but I can hope! I've babied this car and it's way under miles and in great shape, except for the tires. Full bars, cool climate, eligible for free telematics upgrade.

Did the math, with a $395 lease return fee and allowing for $500 of dealer profit, I guess we need to see an incentive of $7000-7500.

What a headache, this will be my last lease.

It appears to me that the incentives have largely evaporated, just based on dealer response. The only quotes I've been able to get were based on May numbers valid through June 5th. Maybe there are new ones, but the dealers I was dealing with were pretty dismissive.

Typical quotes on my 2015 SV 2 yr 30k lease with a $12.2 payoff were about $10.8 driveout. About $700 of that was GA tax.

The vibe I received (one very blatantly) was that the dealers would rather see the car be returned than me buy it out. One was annoyed that I was holding out for something $6-7 range, indicating that I would never see my car in that range.

When I explained that $10k was not of interest, I'll just wait for 2018. He commented that it's a world car, and they are now sending the lease turn in's overseas.

Who knows. I've not given up, but it's very difficult to get a dealer to call you back with a quote. Just not interested, and I think they know the current offer is not attractive.

Makes me wonder if the dealers are able to retail out the turn-ins? If so, they'd have a strong disincentive to pass along subsidies to the leasee, and instead try to retail it out.

Total radio silence from the local stealership that usually calls and emails me three times a week trying to get me to lease another car.

I sent in the second set of lease extension paperwork, and it was delivered 5/30 at 4:42am. This evening there was a message on my answering machine from the Leaf specialists, saying that "there is a problem with the lease extension paperwork." I'm beginning to think they want me to lease a Bolt. I guess I'll be driving one this week or next.

Still no response from my dealer. Wife is looking at an Infiniti QX60. Dealer said they’d cover up to 3 payments of our Leaf lease to get the Infiniti. Lease up in Sept.
