Seriously, does this happen? What's the point of scheduling and doing an inspection then?

The car can get damaged by the dealership after you return it. That's a big reason for the inspection. The inspection report is supposed to be the important one, although if much time elapses between inspection and turn-in, you might have to fight.

I encountered a problem with the NMAC/Alliance end of lease process. My account number seems to have 'aged out' of the Alliance system because of the length of extensions. It took 20 minutes on the phone to fix it. You have to call the Leaf Specialist number and have them contact Alliance and then transfer the call to you for scheduling. It didn't help that the Leaf "Specialist" I got was a bit dim, which is unusual.

yes. NMAC wanted to charge me for windshield replacement for a sprite about the size of a dime... I told them no and they said Ok.

So I am glad I scheduled the inspection and not fix my dents. The guy from AIM was very reasonable. Luckily all the multiple dents were on the same part. A local collision shop would have charged me nearly 900 bucks to replace the bumper . The AIM guy said it wouuld cost me nearly 550 which I will gladly pay, My total bill for my 40 month old Nissan leaf S with 40,000 miles is a grand 650 plus which includes 120 for two chipped wheel rims.

I am going to turn it in 10 days late(my grace period) and happily pay the fine and get done with this. I will miss the LEAF(It's a second car to me, but a primary car I got for my elderly mother who loves it).

So I just got a call about my lease (which ends in October). Nissan would like to put me in a new one now and will waive all further lease payments. I should have asked about an extension, instead.

I did try saying that I needed to wait for the 60wkh Leaf. No extension was available for that reason.

I'm looking to decide if buying out my current lease is a good option

I"m currently in 2 year lease for a 2016 SV until July. I was able to get a good deal couple of years ago. 0 down and $190 per month. The residual value on the NMAC site is $13500

I have a local dealer trying to reach me to get me into a new lease

What would be a realistic expectation in terms of final price ?

thanks

Go to the NMAC Finance Portal and put in your info, with a "Dealer Assisted" buyout. And I strongly suggest you check your battery's health before deciding.
