is this a good lease deal?

For a 2016 Leaf S model:

$202/month for a 36 month lease
$209/month for a 24 month lease

For a 2016 Leaf SV model:

$316/month for a 36 month lease
$294/month for a 24 month lease

about $1300 down

I was thinking of holding out for a possible longer range model (Leaf 2017) or until Chevy Bolt prices come out. But now I'm considering the 24 month lease on an S and then see where the technology is at on EV's in 2 years. Is it better to go with a 24 month lease vs a 36 month lease?

IF the car is a 'placeholder' for a couple of years, get a 2 year lease. You should be able to extend it to three if needed (no promises, though.) It's a decent deal for outside of California or Colorado.

Looking back, it appears the poster may live in Colorado. Is this not counting the tax rebate?

Yes I live in Colorado. The tax rebate is worked into the terms of the lease, as I understand it. I don't get the tax rebate separately (isn't that the case with all leases?)

I just got offered $309 a month with zero down for a 2016 SV with Premium, 12k miles, 36 months. I think your dealer is just taking the tax rebate as a bonus for him.

Average deal. You will be paying $8500 for the 36 month S lease and drive off. There should be about a $2000 Colorado rebate.

I say this because there are so many cheap lease returns and a few repos flooding the used market. If you can wait a few months they will be cheaper with the announcement (tomorrow) of the 40kWh cars and by the end of the year the first Bolts coming out.

That lease I was offered fell through - I was getting multiple quotes (or trying with little success locally), and this dealer was in Pennsylvania. When they discovered I live in New York, it went up to $394 a month. BTW, I've been told twice now that Nissan doesn't offer leases with mileage less than 12k.

2016 sv
$0 down, $300/mon, for 24 mons

It's a good deal if your state requires sales tax be paid and that's included. It's a great deal if the car also has Premium Package. If no to both, it's an ok deal.
