How can we find the battery capacity from the Vin number? is it possible?

https://www.carvana.com/ondemand/2000036388

I found this car though they advertised as 101/126 range, not sure the numbers are accurate, since I have seen several online ads publish numbers incorrectly by mistake.

This looks like a leased vehicle, are leased vehicles typically have high capacity battery?

Ok I got confused EPA miles vs battery range. Looks like 2016 S trim also has optional higher capacity battery. http://www.nissanusa.com/electric-cars/leaf/versions-specs/

The only way to tell what capacity a used Leaf has left is to measure it. If buying at a distance, this is impossible, though with a picture of the dash you might see a bar loss that would indicate if there is a > 15% loss. Cars coming off a lease after two years will likely have about 10% capacity loss, unless driven and stored in a hot environment, where it might be higher. I looked at 4 used Leafs about a year ago that were coming off 2-year leases and they averaged 10-12% loss. EPA miles means nothing--how many miles range you get depends entirely on how you drive it and in what conditions.

YMMV,
TT

I'm pretty sure there was another recent thread on MNL where someone found the key to the VIN that specified whether it had the 24 or 30kwh battery, just can't find it now.
