Does Traction Battery Replacement Show on Carfax?

Sun Jul 23, 2017 9:31 pm

I always assumed it would. But this 2011 shows all 12 bars but is 57K miles with half it's life in Florida. And it's 6 years old.

There are a couple reasons I would not pursue this one, but I'm curious in general about whether the replacement shows up on Carfax.

Not as far as I know. And Ebay and dealer listings often proclaim "New Battery!" when what they are talking about is the 12 volt accessory battery. Remember that replacing an EV battery isn't the kind of event that Carfax and other services were designed to record.

The most offensive, tasteless phrase in use here is "Pulled the trigger." I no longer respond to posts that use it.

OK thanks. I thought it might cause I see things like Battery Check on there.
