I went to go look at a Leaf today and these were the stats I got off of it. What would you guys say is a fair price? My wife and I have two cars and one is a 2003 Mazda that seems to always need work. I want to upgrade to electric and think a used leaf would work well because we both work within 3 miles. I already bike on nice days but I haven't made the jump to bike during Maine Winters. The Leaf would be our second car that I suspect will become our first. A used Leaf makes sense due to our short commutes and it is the only electric option even near our budget. Even this is a bit of a stretch since we are paying in cash without financing.

LeafSpy made it seem like the battery is about to lose its first bar mainly because they overcharged it. It's only got 21k miles but already down to 87% capacity. Am I correct? Anything else you guys see that I don't that would be concerning about the battery?

Thank you for any help. I appreciate how much I've learned from this forum since I've been considering a Leaf.

I don't know if the pictures will show up so here are links:

Not really enough info without year and model. You have a 12 bar Leaf showing that will probably drop a bar in the next year . Year and model will determine price, along with availability in your locale.

Sorry about that. I thought it was in a picture. 2013 SL. There does not seem to be much availability in my area. I have one dealership close but I think they are expecting too much for the Leafs they sell. They have a 2103 SL with 33k miles for $12,990 right now.

If the car comes with a bumper to bumper CPO warranty (excluding battery) that makes it worth more, as the factory warranty is now expired or nearly so. If range is really not a factor at all, then paying a modest premium for it might make sense. Speaking of which, if it has Premium package that's great. If not, it may not even have a backup camera, and resale value for an SL with no Premium isn't great. I'd look to pay the KBB value if it has Premium, and below that if not...

I am not sure if it has the premium package, but I bought it anyway. It was an auction that was open to the public. I got it for $6,850. It felt like a bit of a gamble but it feels like I got a deal. I'm going to go pick it up on Thursday.

Sounds like a deal to me. I paid $7000 for my 2013 SV with more miles and felt like I got a pretty good deal for my area.

No premium, no backup camera. It's a bit of a fixer upper (those leaves in the motor compartment appear amazingly fast I know), but appears sound enough. There is a topic here on adding the rear camera if you need one. It does appear to have 17" wheels. Were they standard on the SL...?

It's hard to believe that the backup camera wasn't standard on the SV but I thought it was a given in the SL. Hard to believe it was standard on all models the next year! It is one thing that I wish mine had, but I can live without it. Looks like it doesn't have the QC either (I don't see the extra orange cables coming from the charger) but since you're commute is even shorter than mine, I doubt that will be an issue.
It does look like it could use a good detailing. What got spilled on the plastic there in the front of the engine compartment?
Hopefully it will all clean up nicely. I don't think that scrape on the front fender is going to rub out though! ;)
I think you will quickly fall in love with it though. I certainly did with mine.

Uh oh. I hope I wasn't too hasty in hitting that online bid button. I was going off the brochure I found and I thought QC was standard.
http://www.auto-brochures.com/makes/Nissan/Leaf/Nissan_US Leaf_2013.pdf We shall see. I'm hoping I fall in love with it also. I think my wife will too. We bucked much of the advice to not get a Leaf from the family. I was tired of waiting for new technology and I wanted to get out of the other car. Gotta stick with your morals and vote with your money.

We are excited to give it a good detailing. Yes, it has some dings but it was the only way to make it attainable. The dealership down the road has the same trim with more miles for double the price. I could detail this car for a week and still come out ahead.

I think I was wrong about that. See the link to your original window sticker. It shows QC port, so you should be good to go!
I think you did just fine for the price!

Thanks that is really helpful. I was using the VIN to try to find all the free info I could. That is a good resource. How did you find it?

Since you don't mind working on the car a bit, look for the topic on adding the rear camera. You did get QC and 17" wheels, plus automatic headlights, anyway. I too think it's amazing that a backup camera wasn't standard even on the SL in 2013, but I guess they were cost-cutting in expectation of the cheap leases and low base prices offered that year. I was very lucky to get my SV with Premium and a cheap lease, because I knew virtually nothing abut the models and options when I went to lease an S for $99 a month in 2013...

SL and SV came with the backup camera the optional package on the SL/SV was the around view camera system on the 2013. You did well.

I don't care what mistaken info* you post: the backup camera was optional in 2013. The OP just bought a Leaf without it. There is no camera on the rear hatch handle.
