With the botched American launch I may wait until May to try to catch discounts here as my lease ends.

It is surprising that this whole thing fell off the rails already, on a car that shares parts with the previous model. My local dealer claimed to be the #1 seller in the USA, but he got two S models during last week.

Going by the little evidence we have, I don't think I'd want a Leaf Too built before April anyway.

Has everyone else missed that the ops LEAF was purchased in Virginia which is not a ZEV state? Doesn't that make a good deal harder to get?

Yes, but not impossible. We're in VA and are currently leasing a 2015 SV w/ Prem for $198/mo with nothing down other than first month's payment. But good lease deals on EV's in Virginia take a lot more work than for the same car on SoCal.

Your situation is COMPLETELY different. I leased a 30 kwh LEAF for nothing down and $245 a month with 15k miles. Those days are gone... at least for now.

My point was merely that the problem with getting good lease deals on a 2018 Leaf isn't the fact that someone is in Virginia- it's that the 2018 Leaf just launched and is brand new. And it's often very challenging to get reasonable lease deals on anything that's brand new, regardless of the make or model.

Well maybe we need to be reminded that despite the 2018 reportedly being a MUCH better version than previous years while STILL cheaper than previous versions that PERHAPS there is simply less room and need to get a huge discount to justify the TCO on the car... or we can wait and see if trump gets his gas tax hike ;)

Re: 2018 Leaf Deliveries

The one year extension of my 2014 SL lease was up this month, and I've replaced it with a 2018 SV. I thought about kicking the can down the road a bit longer with their 3 month extension offer, but I decided I was ready for something new after four years. Looked at the Bolt, but the incremental increase in range didn't make up for the additional cost and other things I felt were lacking.

I miss the days from my 2012 and 2014 leases when Nissan had less realistic residuals, but rather than look at how much more it costs today, I elect to focus on how much I saved over the last seven years.

Really enjoying the car so far. I was less than thrilled on the second day though when I was driving down the highway and a rock hit my windshield. I've been driving around with an interesting question mark shaped crack right in the middle of the windshield for the last week and a half. Thankfully it quit growing after a few days. It gets replaced tomorrow. $1046 total cost to replace. My deductible is $500. Sigh.

Thanks for the informative post.
I'm surprised you did not buy the car. Presuming you are eligible for the $7,500 tax credit the car could have been bought in 64 months of your lease payment.
