I have just managed to get my Level 2 EVSE installed and working. But I had noticed previously that the electric company in my area, Lakeland Electric, mandates that any Level 2 charging is to be on a separate TOU rate, and separately metered.

So I'm wondering if people have run into this situation, or are people just ignoring such a requirement? Here, they aren't set up to bill this way yet, so I have just let them know I will now be doing Level 2 charging. I am already on TOU,so of course it will all be during off-peak times anyway.

Will your utility pay for the second meter installation? If not, I'm sure many people would have a hard time remembering to notify them of any L2 plans.
