The other bonus with the 14-50R is that it can be used by whomever you might sell your house to as a dryer outlet.
Also, on evseadapters.com and on Amazon, you'll find a bunch of "Tesla" adapter cables which, for the most part, can be used with any EVSE that has a 14-50p on it. For example, an RV park TT30 adapter cable (14-50R to TT30P) so you can charge your Leaf from a TT30 outlet. I can do that with my portable Zencar EVSE, charging 120V@24A.
