When I got into OpenEVSE's I sold my 16A Leviton unit. I paid $1000 for it and I received the 30% tax credit. I sold it for $700 so I broke even.
It was built really well. better than my first OpenEVSE. At that price it had better been!
I would guess as the price was reduced the quality suffered. Everything cost a lot originally.
