Continental Contimobility kit

Thu Nov 14, 2013 5:00 pm

I`ve helped out a friend of mine who had a flat tire using Continental Contimobility kit included in my Leaf 2012. Everything went fine as stipulated in the instructions. Following this I phone my Nissan Dealer to see if they stock the 450ml bottle which is part of the kit. They have but at what price ....
$ 244.00 for the bottle. It seems to me that a towing + a new tire including installation would cost less. I thought that I had misheard, I thought the compressor was included, but it was not. The compressor is about $ 450.00 more. So my question, anybody can suggest where you can order a replacement at a reasonable price.

Lots of threads on here about blown tire experiences, and how you should perhaps NEVER use the supplied goop.

This one comes to mind: The COST of a blown tire

I keep a plug kit in all my cars, and a small compressor.
I have used My kit with the Ecopias twice, and never with the Michelins.

Re: Continental Contimobility kit - My story of woe!

In a moment of despiration after getting a flat, needing to get my kid to finals, I used the fix a flat. I figured how hard could it be: A compressor, some goop, and a valve, right? Well I opened the little valve that says "turn to open", flip the switch, and pow, white shizzel comes flying out, all over the parking lot, my car and me! Seems the little valve came off completely, opening up the stream of goop. Now I need a tow, which takes an hour and a half; add another 45 minutes to buy a new tire, and finally, I am back on the road. In addition to the $120 new tire, the goop ruins my $200 dress pants (shizzel don't come out of wool!). Yes, I should have read the directions, but man, does this car need a spare. I guess Nissan figures if you bought an electric car, you have nowhere to be!
Don't get a flat friends.....

FYI. This disappeared from the Tire Rack website. I contacted them and they said Continental discontinued replacement bottles in March 2018.

A company called AirMan makes an aftermarket version: I called them ( and they said it's designed for their inflator and they have no idea if it will fit a Conti Mobility Kit.

I'd read comments that other (similar UK stocked aftermarket versions) will fit but you need to discard the hose. Anyone know? It's available on Amazon. Or are there any other alternatives? ... ve-through

I used one of these for the first time only a few months ago. Instead of goop, carry one of these 5$ kits with you, i have now fixed two flats with them with no long term repercussions. You will be able to have a tire shop fix it more long term at your convenience and no messy goop is involved. ... 62611.html
