Do remember to remove the fill plug *first*, that way you don't drain it first and, then find your fill plug is siezed. That saved me once (not a Leaf), the fill plug was siezed and I was able to drive to a shop so they could weld a nut to the plug, so it could be removed with an impact wrench.

Leafswe, this is going back a few years. In case you see this, do you recall how many kms that Leaf had done to get that sort of result? I've just passed 103,000km (64,000 miles) and I'm wondering if it's time to replace the reduction gear oil for preventative maintenance.

Have any other high mileage LEAF owners had it done yet or am I being too cautious?

Nissan Matic S fluid is hard to come by in Australia. Anyone got an opinion on Castrol Transmax FE? Castrol's website claims it's a suitable replacement for Matic S fluid.

It can't hurt. If I were to buy instead of lease I'd change it early on. The majority of the wear metals are produced in the first few thousand miles of driving as the gears polish each other.
I noticed you're still working with polymers.

I just turned up 50,500 miles so this is on my to do list, but I have more important work on other vehicles to take care of first. I plan to use the genuine Nissan fluid.

I had mine don when I had the heater repaired by warranty, it was sludged up with breaking in flakes.

It is the nature of the beast all ways should change it once early. then do it by the book time.
2013 SV Leaf, Level 2 charger, so far all works great! 130Km daily, 100% charge at night on 240 then trickle charge for 8H durring the day on 120v.

Level 2 charge starts at 130am environmental starts at 6am to 25c for a toasty warm defrosted car!
