I can't seem to find many answers regarding my question, so I apologize if the subject had already been covered: Is a current, replacement 24 kWh battery "better" than a 24 kWh battery from, say, 2013? Perhaps more energy dense / efficient? Thanks.
 
The new replacements are the 2015 era "Lizard" batteries. If the 2013 in question was built before April of 2013, then the new pack will definitely degrade more slowly, but will have the same energy density. If the car was built after March of 2013, then we don't really know how much difference there is between the original and new packs.
 
Assuming you don't have a "lizard" pack (uncertain for 2013), there are different opinions about whether the lizard pack is better:
