Anyone signed up for EVmatch yet? Love this idea! But it needs people to sign up as hosts and use the network to grow. Unfortunately it's only in LA right now as a pilot program. But please sign up to encourage them to grow quickly. (I'm in no way affiliated with the company, I just think it's a great idea and sorely needed here in the Midwest)

Please tell us what it is and give us a link. Yes, we could all do a search and hope to find what you are looking at, but to be sure it would be nice if you already give this to us. Otherwise I believe most users of this site will just move on without doing anything.

They should have called it ChargeBuddy, or something along those lines. EVmatch isn't a quick "explainer" name, it sounds more like a dating service.

I couldn't find any charging cost info, an odd omission.

Would be a useful service in LBW and VLBW situations, if no other cheaper options were available.

From what I can tell:

EVMatch: They have an App that lets me charge for people to use my charging station, but only if I'm in the LA area.
PlugShare: Worldwide database of charging stations, including not only commercial networks but also people with home charging stations (or outlets) that they make available (for free).

I use PlugShare all the time. I've never used someone's home charging station. I don't know how PlugShare makes any money, but it's really awesome.

I'll probably never use EVMatch.

That's cool. Some services aren't for everyone, no worries. And I do agree that PlugShare is very handy. I, like you, have never used someone's personal station. That being said, in an odd way, I'd be much more likely to use someone's personal station if they charged me for it.
And it's only in LA right now because they just got started and are piloting it there.
I also agree with the comment above this that said it isn't a great name. It sounds like an online dating site for EV enthusiasts. :)
