I have a 2013 Leaf and I had my battery replaced last month under the capacity warranty with just a few months and about 15,000 miles to spare. The dealer was great about replacing it, but one thing that no one, even the dealer seems to be able to confirm is what the warranty on the replacement battery is.

I know if I paid for a replacement battery, the warranty would start over from that point (although i don't know which warranty they would use since they put in the 30kw battery which has a better warranty), but because this was replaced under warranty is that the case?

Battery capacity is measured in kWh, not "kw".

Normally on replacement parts covered under warranty, the warranty is the remainder of the warranty on that system (in your case, the 5 year/60K miles, whichever comes first) OR 1 year/12K miles, whichever is greater. So, you should have about 12 months/12K miles from the time the replacement was installed, in terms of capacity

The replacement parts warranty in in your warranty booklet.

I wouldn't expect the 8 year/100K battery defects warranty to gain even a day. It's the remainder of that.
