Any ideas on how frequently I should be replacing my 12v battery? The Transport Evolved lady on youtube says the 12v batteries get beat up more in EVs than regular vehicles.

The first digit from the left side is a letter which stands for the month of the year. A = January; B = February; C = March, etc. The second digit from the left is the year that the battery was shipped from the factory (0 = 2010, 1 = 2011, 2 = 2012, 3 = 2013, 4 = 2014, 5=2015).

There is no one schedule. Depending on what year Leaf you drive (please put that info and your location in your signature line) you may need to regularly top off the charge with a battery maintainer, or you may just have to replace the battery every 3 to 5 years, depending on location and usage.

Mine crashed at 4.5 years..22.600 miles.. and you don't want for that to happen. TERRIFYING..a complete system shut down with a 5 second warning. I am only glad I was not at 30,000 feet or over the Potomac River, as I am not Captain Skully. Nevertheless, I managed to get it out of the traffic lane on a fairly busy street, but thank "G" I wasn't on the expressway!!
