My EVSE is not charging the car. The "Ready" light is a steady green. The outlets are grounded. The car timers are off. The car charges with no issues using other EVSE. When I plug it in the car beeps once and nothing happens. I really don't want to buy a new EVSE since this is almost certainly a very simple electrical problem. Any ideas how to diagnose and repair what is going on?

My EVSE is a level 1 Nissan OEM model 29690 3NF2E. The local dealer said it is $1,000 to replace it and nobody repairs them.

It is a 2012 leaf and the Nissan dealership claimed there is no way they will warranty this EVSE.

If the In Service (1st registration) date plus 5 years hasn't passed yet it is covered.
I am the second owner and 5 years have passed.

If you have to buy one out of warranty, there are a lot of EVSE options available. The TurboCord from AeroVironment would fit your needs quite well. https://smile.amazon.com/AeroVironment-TurboCord-Plug-Charger-UL-Listed/dp/B00J8O1XQE/ref=sr_1_48?ie=UTF8&qid=1499039202&sr=8-48&keywords=evse

EVSE Upgrade can probably repair your old unit, and also convert it into a 120/240 unit like the TurboCord. http://evseupgrade.com/

You can also probably find a replacement OEM EVSE on ebay.

I would try sending it to evseupgrade.com for repair first. There's also https://store.clippercreek.com/level1/pcs-15-portable-ev-charging-station.

Sure, one can get OEM Nissan ones from eBay, but I do wonder how many of them are legit vs. stolen.
