Hi Leafy people,

I been getting random Turtle mode sometimes when I start my car, I do not know why? I have my leafspy app and it isn't displaying any error codes.

I thought it could be my key fob but I replaced the batteries. ~98% SOH

What is going on? Turtle mode makes me hate my nissan leaf and is actually dangerous to drive.

I had the same thing, fully charged and turtle mode. Turned out to be a cellpair that had drifted down 200mV even with a fully charged vehicle.

-Get an OBD2 bluetooth adapter (v1.5)
-Install LeafSpy on your phone
-Read codes and check voltage levels. Post them here and let's continue troublehsooting!

First post and declaring that the car has a "dangerous condition"... Sounds like someone making some paper trail for a law suit or Nissan bashing.....

I cant imagine why people with real mechanical complaints always seek solutions from us forum geeks, and don't take the car for the dealer? Like we have a crystal ball and are "Leaf specialist" mechanics...

I may be wrong, but I smell a fish in the basket.

I been charging it to 100% with a quick charge and L2 charger for the past 4 days and no luck.

I opened up the battery pack and manually balanced the cell with a charger. Not recommended if you still have warranty. (My 2015 USA->EU export did not have warranty) https://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=26760&start=10#p540178

Is the 73mV at fully charged or at fully discharged? Or somewhere between. That big a difference will impact your usable range for sure.
