New Leaf Owner - Capacity Question

Mon Mar 27, 2017 9:55 am

So, I just purchased a 2014 Leaf S with 14,000 miles on it.

Leaf spy shows 56.34 AHR and an 86% SOH.

It also shows 233 GIDS at 93% SOC on a very mild morning in south florida.

I'm thinking the GIDS would correlate to a battery capacity of 88% - [(233GIDS/0.93SOC) / 284GIDS]

Does that sound about right.

Also, my research found that a 2014 should have right around 11 bars. My Leafspy data seems to be in line with this as I'm 1-3% from losing my first bar.

Am I reading all of this right? Anything Jump out at you?

I'd go by the SOH reading, not the GID reading, but aside from that you have the right idea. There is no direct correlation between it being a '14 and having roughly 11 bars. That's more applicable to older Leafs. The capacity loss is more likely from heat than from age.
