I have Nissan LEAF 2017 S. Is there a way to turn off the back up (reverse) beeping sound ? It's quite annoying, even if it's to alert of people behind the car.

IIRC, you need the Pro version.

We first learned of it via http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=23864. Turbo3 ended up adding it to Leaf Spy Pro.

I see.. need the Pro version...

Thanks!

In Canada, it’s a required safety feature. In the few short months I’ve owned my Leaf, the reverse sound has potentially avoided 3 altercations with pedestrians, and before someone says, “well than you suck as a driver!”, know that they were potential and I saw them, but they never saw me, but heard me.

I would not disable the chime. If one were in an accident with a pedestrian and it was found one disabled their safety feature, one could find themselves in a heap of trouble.

In B.C. back up alarms required for construction vehicles that can't see behind their equipment are replacing them with "white noise" emitters.

Transport Canada is mandating 2018> vehicles to have back up cameras which are useless when wet or muddy.

Can't find any law requiring back up alarms requirement on electric cars in Canada

That’s the impression I got from the manual (2018). However, even if it weren’t the case that reverse chimes for EV’s were required, I don’t believe it’s prudent to disable a safety feature that can so easily prevent injury.

BE236 needs to grow up and take what she is given...

She did not like the answer she got on another thread and started it again here.... Don't do that.....

Its not about what YOU want. Its like saying I only want one headlight...
