Ham Radio Installation

My VHF/UHF Ham Radio transceiver connects directly to a 12 volt battery via a fused cable system. It draws about 750 milliamps on receive and 8.5 amps on transmit. I'm curious about the 12 volt accessory battery system in the Leaf and how it is charged. My Leaf is scheduled for December delivery here in the Nashville, TN area. I looked at a Leaf on display at Nissan HQ here and it seems to be a pretty straight-forward install from battery to the transceiver. The actual transceiver is a package about the size of a hardback book and there is a remote control head and display which goes someplace in the driver's area. The antenna is a 1/4 wave which attaches to the hatchback lid lip. Any recommendations or comments?
