Frozen iPod 5g

Twice now, when connected to my Leaf, my iPod 5g (160Gb) has "frozen" causing the display to show "NO USB DEVICE FOUND".

I then have to repeatedly press MENU and SELECT on the iPod until it finally decides to reboot and go back to "normal".

This happens after weeks of the iPod working just fine when connected to the Leaf.

I have NEVER had this iPod freeze before using it in the Leaf.

I don't stop the iPod when turning off the car.

Usually, when I start up again, the iPod continues to play where it left off.

Anyone else having this issue?

Any ideas as to why this might be happening.

Had it happen once. I've only been using this iPod classic in the LEAF for a couple of weeks. I figure it either got too hot, or it's a bug. I went through the reset procedure to get it back. I've started making a habit of not leaving it in the car if there's a chance of it getting hot.
