Portable Car Jump Starter...

Mon Jul 24, 2017 12:17 am

Hello everyone,
Good day! I hope all is well. I hope you can help regarding my questions about the following products.

I am planning to buy a portable car jump starter for my car to my car.

I just want to know your thoughts or experiences regarding these car jump starters? Are they good or not? Also if you have something that you can recommend it will be much appreciated.

Here are the products:

I went with a Schumacher SL1 Red Fuel. It has an integrated volt meter, regulated 12V outlet for general purpose use, USB output, and flashlight. I've run my 12V tire inflater and mini cooler off of it (it ran the cooler for about an hour).

What sold me on the SL1 was the improved safety design. The internal jump start relay is disengaged automatically after a successful start to avoid back-feeding unregulated power into the LiIon pack. The other jump packs just tell you to disconnect ASAP after starting, and most don't even have a relay on the jumper cable output. The SL1 is LiFePo, which is a more stable chemistry and can tolerate higher storage temperatures and is TSA approved for carry on.
