I posted couple of days ago about an android app I made that helps european leaf drivers to see parameters and switch on charging, much like the missing android version of carwings for the leaf.
Now I see that the post is missing. Did I breach any forum rules? Or there was a server crash and the backup was not containing my post?

here is a repost from google cache.

Hi,

Since the Android Leaf app is taking its time I made a small app that can be used to perform some of the functions of the original app.
My app uses the WEB interface of carwings, it is a bit slower - processing requests can take up to 15min depending on country. It is meant as a patch until nissan releases the android app for the Leaf drivers in Europe.

Currently the app supports Great Britain, Denmark, France, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, but only Norway, Great Britain and Portugal are confirmed to work.

It is called Open Wings, and the free (ads supported) version is available here:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nikpix.leaf.openwings.free" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Let me know any suggestions, ideas, or problems.

even if it was flagged as spam, the admins can read...I hope.

That is interesting. I did a search for "open wings" in the MyNissanLeaf.com search page and the first result is your post/thread, but when you click the link it says the thread does not exist. Strange.

Indeed! Either a moderator has moderated my message - and it will be very interesting to know what I did wrong, or there is a tech problem that may need to be addressed.

Edit: For forum mods that want to look into this - the thread id for my dissappeared message was f=39&t=7493 ... hope this helps.

Search for "nissan leaf" in Android Marketplace shows Open Wings, but not the Nissan app.

Using the link above on my Vizio Android Tablet gets the message that the app is not compatible with my device.

Might that be because the Nissan LEAF app requires a cell phone function, and does not communicate via the Web?
(I should think not.)

I think nissan app has some limitations on what hardware and versions of android it wants to be installed on. I remember reading somewhere about someone managing to get it installed on their Kindle Fire... ...infact it was here: http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=6841

Give it a try and if it does not work, pm me and I can add US to the list of countries on my app.

Yeah, I ended up backing up the install on my phone and emailing it to myself to get it on my NookColor.

Did the solution provided by frodrick not work for you?

I'm sure it would have, but I had and fixed the problem long before this thread was started.
