Seems like mostly Marketeer-speak. Perhaps just being applied to UK market for this statement.
Nissan is predicting a shortage in the "first months". That's like saying there's a shortage right now.
Sure, if you already have 7000+ pre-orders and you can make 50000 in 2011 then yeah, the first 2-3 months will have more buyers than LEAFS.

If shortage "in the first ... months" just means "during the ..." then, no real problem, right?
