FWIW, I got a phone call from a dealer yesterday that they expect to get 2016 Leaf in the showroom early Nov (Phoenix, AZ).

Though, now I have been seriously considering a Kia SOUL EV, but I'd be curious to find out the lease payments on a 2016 Leaf SV. Please update if you hear about availability of 2016 Leaf in your market.

Although I'm not as quick to dismiss it as the previous poster you have proved through your post exactly why a car dealer would say that if it wasn't true. You just said you'd wait to buy till November, or 1 month, if in November they don't have it yet but have a clear date of 1 month, or want to tell another lie that it will be 1 month then people are likely to wait another month. If they tell you 2 months now you might go buy a kia soul ev.

Although it's tricky because EV sales in general have been hurt but typically when a something new comes out the lease payments are never as good as the competition with old product. They are likely to start interest rates at 1.9-4.9%. As soon as they are on sale it wouldn`t surprise me if Kia in response goes 0% on the soul EV.

I find it pretty odd that a 2016 isn`t out already and I would be shocked if they aren`t doing deliveries by early December.

That sounds right. Same thing we heard in Seattle.

Nissan is also giving extensive test drivers for media this week.

I asked a seattle dealer this week and they said they still aren't even able to order 2016s yet, so seems like its still going to be awhile, even November might be unlikely at this point

Pretty soon the 2016 Leaf is going to be released so close to the Bolt, Outlander, and whatever else, that I'm not even going to bother checking it out until I can compare all three.

Yep, once again Nissan seems to be grasping defeat from the jaws of victory...

2016 manuals and placeholders have been posted on the site. One step closer.

Warranty: https://owners.nissanusa.com/content/techpub/ManualsAndGuides/LEAF/2016/2016-LEAF-warranty-booklet.pdf (note that in the first chart they neglected to put in writing that the 30kWh battery capacity warranty exists, it's just listed as "battery coverage"- I think it was a typo, later it clarifies)

Great find, I was reading over the 2016 manual, it does have the updated sections for the 30kWH battery now. I am actually right next to the Nissan HQ for the US and talking with those folks, November is currently the target delivery date to the dealers here at least. I know some type of promotion is planned, so I guess they will need the real 2016 machines to pull it off. No idea what it will actually be though, but the auto dealers in the area have planned advertising for November as well. But even if 2016 Leafs start arriving, I don't know how long before they can actually go on sale, test drive, advertise, etc. That might take longer, so we not actually hear about it until next year?

I wonder what "below 9 bars" means for the 30 kwh pack. Perhaps the same cutoff of 43 Ah remaining? That would certainly allow them to provide a longer warranty without risk. The warranty as stated is meaningless since it doesn't specify percentage loss from an average new 30 kwh battery.

ask another dealer. there is a HUGE disparity in the level of info you can get from one dealer to another especially for all things LEAF
