Ah yes, I recall that one. If you didn't meet their "active social-media user" criterion you were told the group was "full". Still pisses me off.

I can assure you that they are MUCH less picky now. It seems like there is no criteria at all any more

Yep on all of the above.

DaveinOlyWA wrote:A good example is a thread in the T3 group. It has become an amazingly frustrating circle jerk over the $7500 tax credit. At last count, I think the phrase "tax liability" was mentioned a dozen times but the most recent post asks a question about their W-2 form. IOW; A complete clusterfuck along with several people unable to let it go and repeating the same thing over and over so I get a notice someone responded "to me" and I click on that notice and get taken to the OP of a thread with 200 responses and I am left on my own to find it.

I can't speak to that thread, but yes, the above pattern on Leaf FB groups on other topics is similar, although not necessarily ballooning to 200 responses, or as quickly.

For some threads that degenerate into a cluster$%^$%^, I just have to bow out and turn off notifications for that thread. I sometimes just can't take it any more.

What really has been driving me batty sometimes on Leaf FB groups due to the UI is just the number of folks chiming in who really don't have a clue and/or are giving bad info (sounds like that was happening in that "T3" tax credit thread, as well). So, if someone asks a question, there might be a couple right answers (repeated, of course), a whole bunch of wrong ones, sparking more discussion and questions. All of this takes time to read. There might be good discussion that's in a reply to a reply, that the OP and others may never see, as it gets buried.

In other cases, the correct answer is given yet nobody looks at it and people keep chiming in with guesses.

Here's one that bothered me recently, someone at https://www.facebook.com/groups/seattle ... 511860844/ with a '16 and 15.5K miles recently lost a capacity bar. They ask if anyone's experienced this. Of course, a ton of people with NON-2016 Leafs, like 2013s to 2015 in the mild Pacific NW chime in saying "no", giving their mileage, acting (or are) surprised, etc. Ummmm... hello??? The 2016 30 kWh batteries aren't holding up and the 2013 to 2015 Leafs are rather different, to put it mildly. The thread of course has ballooned.

There's another thread which I need to get back to when I have time, where in response to the charge to 80% setting being removed, some idiot is asserting that charging a Leaf to 100% means it's only charged to 80%!!! WTF?!?!? This is WAY off.

Also, if I've participated in a bunch of threads after work at night. If I check in the morning or the afternoon the next day, I might have like 5 to 10+ notifications.

I'm going to have restrain myself and cut back on the amount of time I participate on Leaf FB groups, for my sanity, besides lack of time. I also don't want to get into this sucked into this phase as much: Image. Worst case is that I pull out of all but two Leaf groups. That means I'd have come full-circle. For the longest time, I was only on two Leaf FB groups and may revert to that.

Two things have been really pissing me off lately on FB, the 2nd more than the other:

1) Sometimes, when replying to threads or even just posts on a friend's wall, Facebook flags my post as spam even when it's not. It seems like just including a link (even to places like http://www.electricvehiclewiki.com/Batt ... y_Behavior or somewhere on insideevs.com, GCR or nissannews.com) makes it think it's spam. I can click that it's not spam, but it seems like the reply remains locked until the other side clicks something unintuitive to unlock it. If they don't, it can only be seen by me and the other person.

2) More recently, when replying to threads, it seems like my replies are disappearing basically after I've "saved" them. They're flat out gone. Perhaps it's some A/B test FB (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A/B_testing) is doing for spam filtering? It again seems like if I provide links (to supporting info), there's a good chance my reply will be GONE. :( I've been so upset at this, all I can do is reply again w/o proof or just drop out.

Some folks on FB are very annoying w/their posting of incorrect info.

(As an FYI, MANY web companies and those have have apps for smartphones and tablets do A/B testing these days, including my employer.)

Have you tried inserting spaces in the links to make them non-clickable? Or leaving out the http:// and posting the rest of the link? Me, I can't deal with Facebook. I got off of it while the getting was good, about 10 years ago. I'm also a 'Someone on the Internet is wrong!' kind of guy, and I've had to force myself to back off from it, if only for my health. This is the one remaining place where I post daily.

No. Not yet. Part of the point is so that they're easily clickable.

Hahaha. I think I joined FB in 2007, which was still pretty early for them. But yes, I know what you mean. I have a busy day job and other priorities that keep me busy enough, as it is.

edit: More of my posts vanished today. :( I did this evening try putting a space after https:// or http:// to a an archived page (e.g. https://web.archive.org/web/20160304054 ... speeds.pdf) and that didn't help. Reply gone. :( What a waste of time. :(

Well the issue is ANY facebook user can flag ANY post as SPAM. I have witnessed SEVERAL of your conversations with people who struggle to score double digits on the IQ test and wouldn't surprise me in the least that they were the cause.

Indeed, that could be part of it

But, I still am intermittently having trouble w/responding to https://www.facebook.com/groups/nissan. ... 525607213/ w/o having my replies auto-deleted. It means I cannot include ANY URLs or any .whatever (e.g. .com) in my text. If I do, there's a good chance it'll disappear, be not visible to others and not editable. POS Facebook! It literally happens within seconds. It's not like I come back hours later and they're gone.

So, I have to get creative if I tell people to Google for site:mynissanleaf.com (or whatever) keywords here.

That is an interesting scenario. I post a LOT of links to my blog all over the place and I get random complaints from people so I will remove that site from my submittal list and I get random requests to add a site (sometimes the same one that was removed...) but the reality is unless someone responds to the post, I don't keep track of what happens to the post after I submit it. I guess its possible some of them are disappearing. My site has ads. Ones I do not control. I have the option to do so and they used to let me pick my ads but that is no longer a "free" option so I let them do whatever they want.

FYI; my blog does have the option to register for notifications of new posts; an option I think all of 20? or so people have taken...

FWIW, I just had the auto-deletion of replies happen in two Leaf FB groups tonight + the i3 FB group. :(

I reported the bug to FB each time and the 2nd time, I had screenshots of before (comment present), after auto-deleting and after I click "view more replies" which reveals no more comments because it was my auto-deleted reply. :(

I've had to resort to posting text and saying Google for ___________ to point them the right way. Even including a domain like mynissanleaf.com seems to cause deletion, so I have to leave off the .com.
