GCR: Plug-in Electric Car Sales in Canada, May 2018: Rewriting records

The LEAF took #1, for May with 906 sales (a new monthly sales record for any PEV in Canada), and I think that may be the first time that a BEV has beaten out a PHEV in Canada. In April the Outlander PHEV was #1 with 589 (590 in May), and the Volt had been #1 for years prior to that. It had 731 in May, which blew past its previous record of 555. The Prius Prime had 425 sales, and the Bolt 395.

Interesting data. Nissan sold exactly zero (0) LEAFs in Canada in January 2018, yet they sold about 40% more LEAFs in the following four months than in any previous ENTIRE calendar year. That is a rate of sales that is over 4X what they have achieved previously for this vehicle.

Still the Nissan LEAF lags the Chevy Volt in terms of total sales in 2018.
