Upgraded 2011 Nissan Leaf EVSE Charger. Comes with NEMA 14-30P adapter. Also, NEMA L6-30P cord and original L6-20P. Used for Leaf but in good condition. Comes with orginal Nissan bag. Model 29690-3NA0A EVSE. Goes to 240V @ 16A.

Selling for $165. Shipping at buyer’s expense.

Just bought a 2012 Leaf and need a home charging station. All I have is the trickle charger right now. I'm still getting oriented on what's what with charging systems, but will your charger work with a 2012? For normal home charging operations?

If so, I'd like to buy it. Shipping costs and all.
 
Any J1772 EVSE will work with the Leaf. Various years have different max currents but all work with 249V@16A, The 2011 and 2012 EVSE's are best since they had heavier J1772 wires. As a cost saving measure they have reduced the wire size. Lets face IE, 12A only requires a #16 wire. The #12 of the older units is great for upgrading.
 
My stock Mercedes L1 EVSE only has #16 wire. It is not intended to be upgraded. The wire is fine for 12A at 120V.

Not to contradict a long-term member, who I respect, but it wasn't until '15 that Nissan cheaped out and switched to 14 gauge wiring, still heavier than many other mfgs. as you mentioned. They did change the j1772 wiring though to use a more rubbery wire post '12, pre '13 it was more shiny and prone to getting stiff in sub-zero temps. Also of note, they changed the temperature rating of the wire from 105c pre '13 to 90c post '12.
My guess is if the OP indeed has an upgraded '11 it will do 20a L1/L2 on Leafs that support those speeds(and no way to manually dial it down). As an '11 or '12 Leaf will only charge up to 16a L2 and a meager '12a @ 120v I'm thinking thats why he said it only goes up to 16a :)
I have an a old upgraded '12 Leaf EVSE and it indeed charges at 20a 120v and 20a 240v, the 20a @ 120v is a real caution as you really need a 30a circuit(which isn't very common) even on a good 20a breaker things will get warm and I'd only suggest it for a short period of time(<1hr).

TT-30 in RV parks.
 
I certainly will take your word for it. I currently do not have a Leaf. All I know is that they have reduced the J1772 gauge.
 
TT-30 in RV parks.. Some have a 14-50 and some only supply 120V on it. A tt-30 is good for 24A and if you have an adjustable EVSE like the OpenEVSE it should be set for that. To get greater than 16A at 120V you have to force the L2 table or edit the L1 table. The divisions are purely cosmetic. The pilot is voltage independent.
