It is time to return my 2013 LEAF and I am needing to swap my upgraded charger for a standard 110v one. The charger has the 110v plug converter and an additional adapter for a 220v plug in. $50.00 and your charger for my upgraded one.

Although they’ll fit, I wouldn’t do that swap. The L1 EVSE that came w/the 2011-2012 Leafs looks totally different (and is a different part #) than the 2013+ Leafs. If the OP turns in the wrong one, its likely NMAC will ding you for the (very high) replacement cost. I believe someone ran into this here on MNL.

Here's what the 2011-2012 one looks like: http://www.pluginamerica.org/accessories/nissan-level-1-cordset. There's a comparison at http://sfbayleafs.org/news/2013/01/2013-nissan-leaf-product-highlights/ on slide 6.

To be on the safe side, OP should find someone else w/a L1 EVSE from a 2013+ Leaf.

Oh good to know wouldn't want him to get dinged !

I just picked up a 2013 and was going to send my charger out for the upgrade, so I'd be in for a swap + $50.

the charger will do 12 amps with the 110v adapter plugged into it and 20 amps with the 220v plug. It takes around 5 hours to charge my LEAF when it is completely drained. PM me if interested.

Anybody else looking to swap their upgraded charger before they turn their lease in? i have the stock charger froma 2015 i'd be willing to trade for the upgrade?

will it fit my 2012 Leaf ? I am totally game, where you at ?

In the event that PM's are disabled - Sondy (and or anyone else with a 2011-12 Leaf)... ran across your reply to the thread... I am about to turn in my 2012 Leaf and I have the upgraded EVSE setup from http://evseupgrade.com/?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=3 including the 110 dongle. if you are still interested, would you be interested in a straight swap?

Thanks,
Marc

Hi,

I also have a 2012 upgraded EVSE from my leaf that I'll be returning, and I'm looking for anyone who wants to swap an unmodified EVSE from the same model year. I'm in the SF Bay Area, but otherwise you would need to cover shipping both ways.

I'll take it. We just purchased our 2012 last week and it did not have an EVSE, so the dealer got us a brand new one.

Spiffy,

For some reason I cannot send PMs. I'm not sure if it is a 2012 or 2015. I have to wait till my wife gets home to check. Does it matter?

Probably a moot point now, but anyone that had a stock 2012 EVSE Upgrade performed by Ingineer, and plans to use it in a 2013 or later, will need to be sure it is plugged into a dedicated 20 amp circuit because it will draw 16 amps (not 12). I know this because I traded in my 2012 Leaf for a 2013 (6.6kw) and kept the upgraded 2012 EVSE and discovered the high draw after my 15 amp garage breaker kept tripping on overload.

I have an unmodified 2011 120V EVSE.
Only plugged in one time for an hour.
To the best of my knowledge 2011 and 2012 were the same.
If Darrenf doesn't do the the swap PM me and I will swap.
