Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) discussion for the Nissan LEAF.

CAUTION: Even if resetting codes is possible, it should only be done
in unusual, extreme, and well understood circumstances. The normal
use of these codes is to aid Nissan and Dealers in detecting problems,
and potential problems, and in fixing your car. If you clear any Codes,
you might make it impossible for them to properly diagnose your car.
Starting with the early 2011 USA model as described (perhaps
with errors) in the early-2011 Service Manual, which comes as
51 (or so) PDF files. These files are divided into about a dozen
main sections (see next post).

I will attempt to list the manual sections and files, and note
which files contain DTC information, and the range of DTCs
that are covered in the file (see third post).

The manual (maybe not this early version) can be downloaded
on-line using a one-day subscription to the Nissan LEAF Service
information. The one-day fee is/was a round $20 or $30.

(link needed)

I am attempting to compile a text file of all (most) of the DTC
information, and create a CSV file that might be a non-blessed,
perhaps obsolete or incorrect, but at least somewhat helpful listing.

That should give me enough working room, and the accumulation
of the above information will take a while - a work in progress.

Apparently reading the DTCs from most of the vehicle's Control Units
(VCUs) has been discovered, and even resetting the codes in a
given VCU appears to be possible.

However, reading codes from the TCU (Telecommunications Control Unit)
and the pre-2013 EV/HEV is still a mystery.

I must have missed something here...

Now that I have a way to read my DTC's I'm trying to track down a way to make sense of them. Was that the intent of this thread all those years ago? Maybe there's another that I haven't unearthed yet?
