Put an audible low voltage alarm on your expensive battery pack, or some other way of notifying you to make sure loads are cut off before killing your expensive lithium ion battery pack... :( Lesson learned, although a very expensive lesson.

If you can get to the individual cells, you may be able to recover them. Be smart and safe. A bench power supply and the knowledge to use it is handy.

There are several low cost amp counters that will cut power output or power charging within ranges you specify
