Allows cities and towns to fine and tow for ICEing.
Will make station payments interoperable, no memberships needed, but allowed and with two tiered pricing.
Will allow a revamp of building codes to include EVSEs.
Ramps up state vehicle EV requirements to 25%.
HOV lane access study.
Gas tax replacement study.

Yes. Surprise! I don't get near Boston much, and the only ones I ever saw were tiny ones off the Pike near Logan. But recently I discovered zipper HOV lanes on
93.

Given there is only 7 total miles of HOV lanes, I'm surprised they need a whole study on HOV lane access. It's probably going to cost $100K and take 2 years.

Hopefully there are no unintended consequences from the following:
"Will make station payments interoperable, no memberships needed, but allowed and with two tiered pricing."

Seven miles!!! That's 443,520 inches. So at less than $0.25/inch to study, I'd say people are getting a bargain. :D

Means no one has to be a member or have a card, stations must accept credit cards, but member rates can be different. Pretty much the way it is already. There's also a provision for "fair pricing", that's undefined and will require more regulation. We'll see how that goes.

I'd prefer they charge solely by kWh, and if they have to, add more for the gas tax replacement.

Governor Baker signed it on Friday. It'll take time for cities and towns to update their own laws and regulations to allow for ICE parking fines and towing. Probably even more time to update building codes. The studies on HOV and new EV fees are given almost a year to complete, so no chance of action before 2018.
