Put your scheduling requests in this thread to have them added to this post. Mods, could we please sticky?

The Mitsubishi L3 DC Quick Charger is currently available to the general public during regular business hours (M-F, 8am-5pm).

Please note than any scheduling is for the informational purposes of MNL users, and could be pre-empted by Mitsubishi needing to charge their own vehicles or by non-MNL users (or even MNL users who don't care to apprise us of their plans or run into an emergency situation) simply turning up at or before our scheduled times. You should view this schedule as the Quick Charger definitely being in use by "someone" during the noted times.

Please check the 'Quick Charging comes to Southern California' thread here: http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=4691 for updates outlining any specific procedures related to getting the L3 going (obtaining permission, unlocking the unit, etc....)

Isn't this really the "unofficial" Scheduling thread? Since Mitsu could be using themselves or anyone else can go at any time? It's a great idea, I just don't know if using Official is going to give someone an expectation they shouldn't have.

LOL! You're right. Duly noted.

My charge predates this thread so I was grandfathered under the 'go with the flow' plan
:D
I noted during my visit that it took maybe 12 -15 minutes before the gal got out of a meeting / had time to break away from her regular duties to open up the charger. So be preparred to be patient.

Good to know. I wonder if it might be helpful then to let this person know about this schedule, so she has prior knowledge and can arrange for alternative coverage for unlocking duties if she's otherwise unavailable, or even veto certain times if she knows either the unit or a staff member will not be available for unlocking?

And with that said, I might change my appointment for today to arrive around the same time as (or just before/after) Boomer23. That way we can use the charger twice while only disturbing this gal the once. What think you Phil? I'm about 5-6 bars charged already....it's only going to take me 15 minutes or so, and that's even assuming the LEAF will allow me to take it to 100% charged.

I have to wonder if everyone showing up to charge when they really don't actually need the charge might be counterproductive in terms of annoying the Mitsubishi folks and ultimately limiting access.... It's one thing to actually productively need and use the charge, and another to just show up and charge because you can and it is cool... I only plan to use the facility if it allows me to get somewhere I couldn't easily get to otherwise or to get home from somewhere along that route.

That's a good point. I think many of us wanting to go over there right now just want to see if our cars will actually charge at L3. The novelty will probably wear off pretty quickly after that.

I'm good with that, Mike. I still need to come around 2 pm, but I'm not in a particular hurry. You can go first. We can chat while you charge and then I'm happy to be second. I won't need a full charge, either.

OK with me.

Or, alternatively....if you wanted to wait until next week, Dave Patterson will be back in the office from Plug-In 2011. He is so keen that I'm sure he'll welcome us with open arms. vs. someone who maybe it isn't really her job and would find it something of a hardship to keep trekking out there to meet us?

+1 That's why I'd be nice if Leafers could fling some cash for the privilege ... anything ... even if it were towards sponsering a Mitsubishi community/charity thing ... I wish they had a coffee break/kiosk or somethng to show support for their contribution .... Maybe run something by Mr Patterson when he gets back along those lines?

Equally nice, it'd be great to find a Starbucks in OC /south OC to bridge both the expense of a chademo as well as the distance between San diego and LA. For every bagel and coffee purchase you get 30 minutes charge time for $5. It'd both subsidize the charger cost as well as bring in $$ to the store. It just feels better to make it good for both sides.

(then again - if I could just get a copy of that key, I wouldn't have to worry about bugging them ... I'd be good to go :D )

Boomer, Mwalsh, while you're there quickcharg'ing, if you could ask whether the two L2's are always on for charge at anytime, esp during the weekend when Mitsubishi office is close (or off hours)? Thanks.

Sure will. I didn't see a way for that one to be secured. So unless they power the whole thing down out-of-hours....(although it does have the Yazaki handle, like on our units, so the latch could theoretically be locked into place on the receptacle).

I would love to go back and try the L3. Will probably wait until everything calms down though. Don't want to smother them.

I could definitely use this QC station when we go to visit my girlfriend's parents in Orange. It's a 60mi trip each way and a 15 minute quick charge on the way there or back would be perfect, otherwise I have to go hunt for a charging station down there or L1 for at least 6 hours. The only downside is I rarely ever make that trip during a weekday so until Mitsu grants weekend access I won't be able to try it out anyways.

Mike, Thanks for the 10:30 opening.

I parked in a visitors spot and walked over to the office too see if I could charge, NO PROBLEM!! said the receptionist, I will get someone to unlock the charger for you.

Charged for 20 minutes and had 89 miles when the charger turned off, 9 bars. Moe Durand, Manager Product Communications came out and we talked for 15 minutes. Moe sad the charger was open for everyone to use M-F during business hours. It did not look like the L2 chargers were locked. They are thinking about letting us call in to see if the charger is available and to have it unlocked when we arrive

Given 1051's success today, I'm game to go today, Mike. We could go back next week and see Dave also. I'm just a little antsy for my dose of crack.
