Hi Fred,
Sure, you can post my photos...

To be honest, though, it's not really a "find". I work with eVgo in my Clean Transportation job at the utility, so I help with electric service and transformer issues, etc. and know when the stations are going live....Just trying to let folks know when the stations are open for business....

Thanks, Randy

augh. was gonna signup for the intro offer of $7.95 on evGO but noticed yesterday the offer is no longer available in San Diego. Right when they opened a site I could actually use!

13 RWE Level 2 eStation Smart Systems, each consisting of two charging outlets for a total of 26 outlets, plus three DC fast chargers coming to UCSD:

KnGrid, a California-based small business, is the mobility operator, handling the pricing and billing for use of the chargers.

I haven't heard of either of these companies (RWE & KnGrid) before. RWE appears to be a European company, maybe this one? https://www.rwe-mobility.com/web/cms/en/1157924/rwe-emobility/
KnGrid website is here: http://kngrid.com/ It looks like they have two "per KwH" rate plans:
Commuter $.22 w/ $0 monthly fee
Power User $.16 w/ $4.95 subscription fee
I wonder what connector the DCFC stations will have?

You can bet that they will at least have CHAdeMO, and probably Combo, too.

The picture in your link looks like a standard AV L2 station with a different sticker/branding on it.

I suspect you'll have to pay for parking on top of any charging cost? At least the $/kWh rates are very reasonable, the cost of electricity (or less if on-peak) around here.

I believe parking is still free on the weekends at UCSD, and at night from 11PM to 7AM, otherwise you would have to buy a short-term permit, which I believe is $1 per 45 minutes. I have an emeritus lifetime permit, myself, so not an issue for me. :)

Just stopped in at Summers Past Farms in Flinn Springs on our Sunday drive/errand running and talked to the owner for a bit. I found out after we'd already strolled around the grounds for an hour or so drinking our iced mochas and picking out some plants that he had 110V outlets in the front parking lot and two phases of 110V run to the back/overflow parking. If you have the proper adapter/combiner (and have already modded your trickle charger with the EVSE upgrade), you could conceivably charge at 220VAC. 8-)

We chatted about electric cars and hydroponics, etc. for a bit and he told me he was getting a few estimates this coming week to put in a 9kW solar system on his roof. He's going to inquire with the contractors about adding in a solar powered EV charging station in the bid. I've added the 110VAC charging spot to the PlugShare site already and plugged in for a bit as we were leaving to load it up to the Nissan Carwings database (eventually). He's also thinking of adding signage to one of the front spots for EV's!

There's really no charging of ANY sort within miles of this spot and if you've never been there, you can easily spend a few hours strolling around the gift shop, the nursery, the gardens and beautiful grounds. The addition of the coffee and snack/pastry stand was BRILLIANT, IMHO and it makes for a beautiful little oasis in the eastern back country. Now you can extend your trip eastward into the mountains a bit further as well. Alpine and Viejas Casino/Outlets are now within more convenient reach. :P

I'm thinking that after the solar system goes in we should have one of the local EV Owners club meetings out there for something different! The trip back down the hill is basically free to as far as El Cajon! ;-)

The very nice gentleman I spoke to was named Marshall, and here's their info:

That was a California grant from some time ago. I think they will do 5 or 7 of those installs.
