Best-selling all-electric vehicle is named CES 2018 Best of Innovation winner by Consumer Technology Association

NEW YORK – The new Nissan LEAF has taken top honors at the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) annual CES Unveiled ceremony, presented by the Consumer Technology Association.

With the announcement of the Best of Innovation award winners for 2018, before a crowd of tech industry experts in New York, the all-new, zero-emission Nissan LEAF won its first major international award. Nissan is aiming for many more to come.

As confirmation of Nissan's leading investment in innovation, the Nissan LEAF 100% electric vehicle with ProPILOT (known as ProPILOT Assist in North America) and e-Pedal technologies took the following honors:

CES Best of Innovation award winner for Vehicle Intelligence and Self-Driving Technology
CES honoree for Tech for a Better World

Tesla continues to push the boundaries of electric car technology, while the Zoe remains an appealing option for a different reason: it’s cheap enough to be a realistic alternative to petrol or diesel for the masses.

This is why I give automotive "journalists" the same consideration I give stink bugs: I don't step on them but I also don't pay much attention to them either.

What is your winner on the TCO front?
2011 SL; 44,598 miles. 2013 S; 44,840 miles.2016 S30 deceased. 29,413 miles. 2018 S40; 129 miles, 491 GIDs, 38.1 Ahr available, 100% on everything else :)

How prestigious are these awards, actually? My 2012 LEAF had the “World Car” sticker. Seemed a bit kitch to me at the time.
