Hi all,

Quick question, on the 2018 Leaf S, are the door lock/unlock control buttons in the driver's side door supposed to light up when the lights are on? Mine don't.

Thanks!

Thanks for letting me know. Went on a dinner date with another couple last night and felt like an idiot last night fumbling for the unlock button in the dark..at least I don't have to take it to the dealer to have them fix it I guess.

It's a very requested feature and yes we've all been there, searching for the unlock button! It's the main reason I disabled the automatic door lock feature, that way I don't have to fumble for the unlock button.
A few of the more adventurous people around here have experimented with replacing the switch with Nissans that do light up, even others have somehow added a LED to the switch, I personally have been happy since turning off the auto lock feature :)

Thanks for the autolock suggestion!

Getting lighted door locks is very easy! Nissan Altima door switches plug right in, just make sure it is a base model Altima that only has auto up/down on driver side only. Leaf does not have passenger side servo windows.

Adding an LED doesnt work as easily as i thought it would, there is a resistor (probably) missing in the PCB also. See more info here.

I noticed at the auto show that the 2018 Leaf didn't have lighted buttons still, but they did add sunvisor lights at least! I had to retrofit that from a Nissan Sentra also.

The info for adding the LED is actually here:

And, yes, a resistor required too.
