Traded my 2016 Red Leaf SV for a 2017 Silver Leaf SV w/Premium Package.

If one includes the Federal Tax Credit, I will, on paper, net $541 on the deal. Which will pay for tinting and racing stripes.

I did give up the zero percent financing that came with the 2016.

The dealership mentioned that doing this was not uncommon.

Crazy.

Code: Select all

MSRP + Delivery       $37,374
Dealer Discount       -$2,500
Taxes                  $1,585
Colorado TC           -$5,000
Xcel/Nissan Rebate   -$10,000
Total OTD (w/o Trade) $21,459
TradeIn              -$14,500
Total OTD (w Trade)    $6,959
Fed TC                -$7,500
Net Total (w/o Trade) $13,959
Net Total (w Trade)     -$541

Wow. well done.

How much would you expect a dealer to discount a leftover, fully-loaded 2016 SL? Mine offered to discount it $10,000 from MSRP but I think the discount should be substantially more. Note: This is completely independent of any state/federal/utility credits. Thanks for your input.

Is that including or excluding Nissan's rebates (last I checked it was 4k)? If excluding, it seems reasonable, as there is no change in the vehicle between 2016 and 2017 MY that I'm aware of. Let us know how you made out!

^ that's great. I wanted the same but NC does not have the 3k state rebate so I was stuck at 24900-7500=17500. I bought a used 2015 in perfect condition instead for 11k. I felt like that was as good as I was going to get .
2015 Red Leaf S. Yes the red is important.
