Holy cow. Yes, that was an outstanding deal. I tried to see if local dealers could manage something like that on a new one around here but they couldn't. Best price I could get would have been 20k.

Happy to see a few former TDi owners. I'm in the paperwork process for the buyback of my 2013 Jetta TDi wagon.

I bought a 2017 SV in December 2016. Approximate numbers from memory ....

MSRP:$35,000
Discounts + Rebates: $10500
Federal Rebate: $7500
Colorado rebate: $6000
+Tax ...

After dealer charges, TT&L, rebates, approx: $14500

So far so good, 1200 miles. Just finished installation of my Siemens Versicharge. I really like 6.6 kW charging.

Both the $2400 down and the $180 payment are final totals, all costs included.

I was inspired by ev-vin.blogspot.com's lease deal reports to propose an agressive deal and was pleasantly surprised to find a taker (more or less.)

My plug-in prius lease (returned in January) was about 80 more per month, and the leaf should save another 50/month on gas.

LEASED a new SV on Friday (3/24/17), 12,000 miles per year, as follows:

  • $2800 down (drive-off, all included, no surprises)
  • $140/month (=$129+8.25% tax) * 35 months
  • $10,5xx residual from 0.3 * MSRP of $35,xxx
  • Non-VPP; no floor mats or cargo cover (=$400-500!)

Asked my local dealer if they could beat Boardwalk in RWC's best offer.
Boardwalk is one of the biggest LEAF dealers in the country (by # sold).

(Quite happy with the result.)
I think I just felt my paradigm shift.

2012 SL (One of the colors): 2-year lease, 2012+,
2015 S w/QC (A different color): 3-year lease, 2014+,
2017 SV (Same color as 2015 S): 3-year lease, 2017+, lower monthly than either above(!)

2016 Leaf S-24

Wed Apr 12, 2017 12:20 pm

After looking at a 2015 SL with 50,000 miles for $12k I was about to purchase, but decided to take the offer in the hand to the nearby Nissan dealership. They showed me a Certified 2016 S model with 600 miles for $200 more. It was $13,800 out the door.
It is the base model with no Quick Charge. Has 12 bars. I live 60 miles from the dealer so had them charge to 84 miles to be safe. It was mostly freeway miles then a 3,000 foot elevation gain the last half. Twenty miles and 1,000 feet uphill climb from home I chickened out and diverted to parking the car at work. There is a free public Level 2 charging station a mile away. I make it with 11 miles on the GOM. Then charged up after lunch the next day. It took 6 hours to charge.
2016 S bought used in 2017 with 93% SOH 58 Ah 89 Hx for $12,000
Daily commute is 55 miles round trip with a 2,900 foot elevation climb on the way home.
