I'm trying to figure out how to check my battery soh but the s trim does not come with a nav system. Do I have to buy leaf spy?
Is there another way to communicate with my car via my phone or osd?

Please don't start duplicate threads.

Leaf Spy has nothing to do w/the nav system. It dosen't matter if you have nav or not. Leaf Spy doesn't use it. Having nav doesn't help. Not having it doesn't hurt.

For Android, start with http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=14284 and compatible dongles like http://www.electricvehiclewiki.com/?title=Leaf_Spy_Pro&redirect=no#Clone_ELM327_Bluetooth_Scanner.

For iOS, see http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=19147. I don't believe there's a free lite version. The developer (Turbo3) seems to recommend LELink (http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=19147&p=473679&hilit=lelink#p473679).

I use the Android version but I carry both an Android phone (Google Nexus 5X for work) and an iPhone 6 (my primary personal phone).

BTW, although not related to getting Leaf Spy setup and nav, xan you update your location info via your user name in the upper right > User Control Panel > Profile tab? That way, we don't need to ask in future posts/threads or do sleuthing to deduce it. It may be relevant for future questions/discussion.

But, from YVR, I'm guessing you're in/around Vancouver BC. ;)
