I'm the first in my area to get the leaf and no one seems to have an answer to this question.

My garage is exceptionally small and I most likely will have some difficulties plugging it in once I'm fully parked. Is it possible to plug the car in while it is still running and drive it a few feet forward? Would anything prevent this from working? I would also have to back the car out as well to access the front to unplug the car. I know the car is advanced but would it prevent me from doing this?

Any help is appreciated!

Unfortunately for your case, J1772 charging stations have a drive interlock "feature" to prevent people from driving off while plugged in.

Is there any way you can back into the spot instead?

The area above the hood is fairly low too, good to park a standard car but my be difficult to back in. Ill look into car dimentions in the trunk area. I may need to demo the front of my garage.

Thanks for the info!
