The trailing edge of the hood on my 2016 Leaf S is apparently made of black plastic, but has a white haze.

Wondering if others are seeing anything similar. Is it just oxidation, and would one of those plastic treatments fix it (Mother's Back To Black for instance)? My other thought is some reaction with washer fluid.

Thanks for your help . . . I can post a picture if that would help.

Thanks Gerry, that makes sense.

Just now I cut the white haze in half with a damp towel and elbow grease. One odd thing is that the haze was also present on surrounding black metal parts, like the black metal part of the hood just ahead of this trailing plastic piece, and even the wiper arms. I got that haze off easily with just my fingers.

Considering some Mother's Back To Black next . . . anyone had success with it for this application?

I'm pleased to report that an application of Mother's Back To Black solved this problem.

Left side treated, right side not treated, to show difference:

Thanks again for everyone's help.
