Sorry if this has been answered; I couldn't find one.

I you use the following from the manual, how do you turn the
system back on? Does it require something special or just the
usual procedure to "start" the Leaf?

"EMERGENCY SYSTEM SHUT OFF To shut off the vehicle in an emergency situation while driving, perform the following procedure:
Rapidly push the power switch 3 consecutive times.
Push and hold power switch for more than 2 seconds."

Not that I'm expecting to ever use it, but I'd like to try it
(when my Leaf arrives) just so I know how. But I don't
want to end up with a dead Leaf in the driveway. ;)

No, this does not require a dealer to reset, all this does is simply turn the "ignition" (ready) off in the car. Use a normal start procedure to re-start. This is done to prevent accidental shut off while driving, which could be dangerous in traffic. For instance, if your child presses the button.

In the event of some problem, such as a stuck accelerator pedal, they still wanted to have a way to shut off the car, which is why these options exist.

You can either press it 3 times fast, or hold it for 2 seconds. Note that you must press the brake to re-start, so it may be difficult to do while moving.
