From polar bear to frog?

This short video from planetforward wouldn't make a bad commercial for Leaf. It shows the experiment where a frog suddenly dropped into boiling water jumps back out again, while a frog dropped into cold water placidly sits there as the water is heated until it is boiled alive (not actually shown).

It's filmed at a gas station. A bystander keeps asking why the frog doesn't just jump. The camera zooms in on the gas price. Indeed, why not jump?

I'd be more worried about the first frog -- the one where they poured boiling water on his back. Ouch.
